The heritage in Heritage Appliance Repair

Heritage Appliance Repair was built on something older than any appliance in your kitchen: the knowledge a father passed to his son, and the care that came with it.

Our founder, Sam Barmichev, learned this trade at his father’s bench. As a boy, his father showed him how to solder the first delicate connections onto a circuit board — patient work that taught a young pair of hands to slow down and get it right. As Sam grew, the lessons grew with him: how to handle refrigerant safely, how to listen to a struggling compressor, how to coax a refrigerator or an oven back to life rather than give up on it.

That knowledge was his father’s craft, and handing it down was his father’s gift. It is the heritage the company is named for. Today Sam is passing the same craft to his own children — the next generation to learn that a well-made appliance is worth understanding, and worth saving.

Since 2019, Sam has turned that inheritance into a specialist practice devoted to the high-end and built-in appliances that anchor the finest kitchens. What began as one technician’s careful work is now an eight-person team serving Lexington and its surrounding towns — and the standard has never changed: diagnose honestly, repair properly, fit genuine parts, and treat every home as if it were our own.

A specialist, by choice

Most repair companies will take any job on any appliance. We made a deliberate choice to specialise. A built-in Sub-Zero or a professional Wolf range is often worth more than a car, fitted into custom cabinetry and governed by brand-specific service procedures. Treating it like a builder-grade machine is how warranties get voided and small faults become expensive replacements. So we focus, train on the brands that matter, and carry genuine parts.

How we work

A specialist answers quickly — usually within minutes — and we offer same-day and emergency service when you need it. We diagnose on site and explain the cause plainly, give you a written estimate before any work begins, and fit only genuine OEM parts so your appliance and its warranty stay intact. Floors and cabinetry are protected, the workspace left clean, and panel-ready units refitted exactly as found. Our repairs are backed by a six-month parts warranty and a three-month labour warranty.

Credentials you can rely on

  • EPA Certified — for safe, legal refrigerant handling.
  • U-Line Certified Servicer — factory-recognised for U-Line refrigeration and ice.
  • Licensed & Insured — fully credentialed for work in your home.
  • Genuine OEM parts — warranty-safe components, never generic substitutes.

As a service-area business we come to you across Lexington and the surrounding towns — there is no walk-in showroom, just skilled technicians at your door and a craft handed down to be used well.
